A former adviser to President Bill Clinton, Doug Schoen, said it would be a “disaster” if Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) runs for president in 2028.

“I believe the Democratic Party needs to move to the center on cultural issues and on fiscal issues, and be more fiscally disciplined and AOC represents the opposite,” said Schoen, who is a Democrat pollster and strategist, during a Friday appearance on 'The Ingraham Angle.'

He continued, "I think if she runs, it would be a disaster for the party, and I think her chance of getting nominated would be nil."

ummmmmmm.. what were Harris' chances?.... oh yeah...

There are no “moderate” in the Democratic Party anymore.
Oh I think there are. They're just to chicken sh!t to go against the left wing of their party and party leadership. So they sit there, keep their mouths shut, vote the way the leadership tells them, and collect a paycheck.

I think what disturbs me most about poltics, especially in the HOUSE - is that depending on the year - such as a mid-term where say, the Dems are in the White House - the competition for some seats IN THE PRIMARIES can be won quite easily. I mean, there CAN be as many as half a million eligible voters in a district - and half that or less, for ONE PARTY - but in a primary, where there's not an URGENT sentiment from the public, a modestly financed challenger can win the primary -

And sail on through to the House, should it be one of those lopsided districts that ALWAYS votes Democrat.

For instance -

AOC - ran in 2018. NOT a pressing year for Dems, Biden was in the White House, although they didn't have the House that round. She won that primary 16898 votes to the incumbent's 12,880. I can't find any evidence that he had ever faced a primary challenger before. He didn't even show up to their debate.

But look at those numbers. That's a fraction of the registered Democrats in that district. Obama's ascendency was even more muddled.

ANY DISTRICT that is solidly one party - enough money and patronage from the party, and you just sail in. That's it.
