I've never lived under one, but this seems more excessive. No?

Every HOA is populated by a bunch of control-freak, busy-bodies with nothing better to do.

The HOA here in Pembrooke is really not that overbearing.
A couple years ago I got a letter from them basically saying, We know you and your wife have physical difficulties. We know you are doing what you can to maintain things.
