Well, it's not really *canceled*, now is it? It's just that Marylanders will be paying instead of the parolee.

I didn't even know that was a thing, that parolees who many times struggle with income when they come out of prison have to pay a bunch of administrative fees. That comes out to $2000 per person, which is a lot of money for someone trying to put their life back together. I always assumed the state picked it up.
