Holiday Loans

H&R Block and Jackson Hewitt are both doing RAL kind of loans for Christmas. Anyone have any experience with these? Which one is better? I know that Jackson Hewitt generally only gives up to $500. Rumor is that they will give up to $1000 but you have to have A+ credit. H&R Block has been giving out up to $1000.

You mean a loan based on your income tax return? I can only imagine the absurd interest they charge.

Yep, that's it. I've been googling and can't find any real info other than to go in the office and apply. Jackson Hewitt charges $25 for an application fee even if you get denied.

Socki, two of your three are babies... and the oldest is still very young. They don't need much at all at their ages. I can't imagine you wanting to waste money on interest and fees at this point in their lives. Please tell me you aren't considering doing a loan just for toys...:ohwell:

I should have posted that I do not plan on using the money on Christmas presents. I'm done my shopping for them and my family just gets framed portraits of them. I went shopping the week after Christmas and loaded up on toys. Target has a massive clearance sale. It has gotten me thru their birthdays too.
