Hollywood Celebs Fantasized About Violence Against Trump, Compared Him to Hitler

The attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump on Saturday comes after years of violent rhetoric from left-wing Hollywood celebrities who have used their fame to spread fantasies about physical harm being inflicted on the 45th president.

Many have also compared him to Adolf Hitler in an apparent attempt to goad their fanbase into extreme reactions.

From Kathy Griffin holding a fake, bloodied, decapitated head of the then-president; to Robert De Niro declaring he’d like to punch Trump in the face; to Madonna wanting to blow up the White House, Hollywood stars have indulged in dangerously lurid scenarios that have received tacit and sometimes explicit support from Democrats.

Just two months ago, former Disney and DreamWorks boss Jeffrey Katzenberg compared Trump to Hitler at an event in West Hollywood. Katzenberg serves as Joe Biden’s re-election campaign co-chair. De Niro also likened Trump to Nazis in an MSNBC appearance in May, with no pushback from the interviewer.

I’ve been trying to read about the reactions from the left - and of course I have to sift through the comments simply filled with insults and name-calling - to find out WHY the left thinks the right - had it coming.

Apparently it’s pretty much saying bad things. Insults. The very best right wing violence they can come up with is the crazy homeless guy who attacked Paul Pelosi. I’ve seen the videos. He was just first rate crazy. Hits Paul on the head RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE COP. He was a homeless nutcase whose lifestyle didn’t refer partisan anything.

But next is - death threats. Everyone has received these. While you should take them seriously, the overwhelming majority of them result in nothing.

See, to ME - beating a person in a MAGA hat - shooting at people - smashing their teeth in - trying to kill them - that kind of violence far outstrips saying bad things. This crap happens often. Vandalism against the right - that’s a daily thing.

I can’t equate the two.

They're ###### up in the head and should all be committed.

And sorry but an anonymous death threat doesn’t say anything about political motivations. Anonymous is just that. Could be lefties being *******s.

He missed getting a bullet in the head by inches and microseconds. I can’t think of anything more violent than trying to kill someone.

And - seen this elsewhere. Don’t cheapen the horror placed on this planet by comparing them to Hitler. He personally ordered the deaths of as many as 10 million people, more than half of them, Jews. He instigated a war that took the lives of over 100 million people, and devastated the world. Nothing comes close to what he did.

Certainly not mean tweets.

but that is the narrative, Trump is EVIL like Hitler and anyone supporting Trump is an EVIL NAZI
I was talking to my wife about this but - I’ve read quotes and remarks from the most evil despots in history. And they don’t think they did anything wrong. Pol Pot said he was simply misunderstood. It’s a pattern.

Remember Michael Douglas at the end of “Falling Down” - incredulously asking Robert Duvall - “I’m the bad guy?”. These kinds of folks can both call for civility AND for the deaths of people they hate. They just can’t connect it.

I want to say to people asking to stop the hate - “You first - I’ll follow your example “.
