My weather station says 46* outside, was actually 28* this morning. Pretty stiff breeze, anemometer spinning like crazy, 0 mph. 32 inches of rain this month. I think it died. Never did like the display, had to hold it at very specific angles to get a good view.

In the market for a new weather station. This was an Accurite, a BJs special, not expensive. Looking for something better, but not hundreds of dollars. Accurite's are common, but known to be pretty inaccurate for wind speed. Ambient Weather has some nice units, but not terribly cheap. One that supports a lightning counter would be nice.

Any recommendations? What are you using, and are you happy with it?

I’ve got both the accurite and ambient. I like the ambient better. Although I have had to replace the board on it once but it was only about $30. Tho solar, it seems I have to replace the batteries on the accurite yearly and that’s not easy because of the location on the roof. I believe the ambient has a lightning detector add on but I haven’t purchased it yet.

Ordered an Ambient 4000 with lightning sensor. Latest tech, more than I wanted to spend but I'll just call it a Christmas present to myself. "It was "on sale"".
