Homemade Soap

Does anyone make their own soap? I think I'm going to do some research, buy the required supplies, and give it a shot. Does anyone have any good sources for ingredients? Any ideas on how economical it is to make your own?

For several dollars you can save the cost of a bar of soap.

I make laundry soap. I want to make goat milk soap (have the goat and the milk) but I haven't bought supplies yet. It's a little pricey to start up, and I have just been too cheap. I hope to make some this winter though.

This makes me think of goat cheese...which reminds me of belly button and toe cheese. EWW!

On the subject of homemade soap. Pixiegirl and MK were making their own. PM Pixie.

I was originally looking for some basic soap without a bunch of perfumes, dyes, etc. unnecessary added ingredients. If you want to buy very basic soap, it's expensive. So I thought it would be fun, and probably cheaper, to try to make my own - that's all...
