PGPD Homicide Unit Arrests Two Suspects for Fatal Shooting in June

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit identified and charged two suspects wanted for a fatal shooting in June in the unincorporated section of District Heights. The suspects are 21-year-old Jayon Kemper of the 13000 block of Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring and 24-year-old Makell Lundy of the 6000 block of St. Moritz Drive in Temple Hills. They’re charged with the fatal shooting of 20-year-old Brice Jackson of Southeast, Washington DC.

On June 28, 2021, at approximately 8:40 pm, officers responded to the 2000 block of Brooks Drive for a shooting. The officers located Jackson outside suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation revealed the suspects shot the victim during a drug transaction. The suspects and victim were known to each other.

Kemper and Lundy are charged with first and second degree murder and related charges. They are in the custody of the Department of Corrections and are being held on a no-bond status.
