PGPD Homicide Unit Charges Suspect in Domestic-Related Fatal Stabbing in Camp Springs

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect in a domestic-related stabbing inside of a Camp Springs business on Tuesday. The suspect is 42-year-old John Marin Morales of Oxon Hill. He’s charged with murdering his girlfriend, 39-year-old Yesenia Jaramillo Sosa, of Oxon Hill. The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect stabbed himself after killing the victim.


On March 5, 2024, at approximately 12:30 pm, officers responded to the 4900 block of Camp Springs for a reported stabbing. Officers located the victim in a business suffering from stab wounds. She was pronounced dead on the scene. Officers also located the suspect with stab wounds. He was transported to a hospital with injuries considered life-threatening. The victim was an employee of the business.

The motive for the stabbing remains under investigation. The suspect is charged with first degree murder and related charges.
