Raw unprocessed honey makes a terrific face mask for aging skin and those who are out in the sun a lot (not mentioning any names here ) Slather it on, wait a few, then wash it off. Soft and radiant!
It's also good for your hair - same moisturizing and rejuvenating properties. What made me think of this is at the animal preserve in Cedar Key, they had this ancient hippo who had serious skin problems. They were in the process of nursing it back to health and I asked what they were using to heal its skin. The guide said, "Honey and aloe massages."
Well, if it can work on that hippo it can certainly work on me. Uh, I mean, the unnamed hypothetical person....
When I went to the farmer's market and was buying honey from the bee lady, I asked her, "Is this raw honey?" Before she could answer, a guy standing next to me looked at me like I was crazy and said, "Isn't all honey raw?"
I thought he was teasing but he wasn't. I didn't know how to respond to that.
