We went to the Marriott Ranch in Hume, Va years ago and had a nice time. I am not sure what it is like now but we loved it back in the 90's. Marriott Ranch, Hume, VA Corporate Meetings, Picnics, Events

I know it is a bit far (11 is hours if you drive) but this is my go to place. I have gone there the for the past 3 years.
Southern Cross Guest Ranch
It is in Georgia, about an hour east of Atlanta, right off I-20. I LOVE this place, the people and the food are fantastic. They handle all levels of riders, and change out their horses so they don't get trail sour.
Now if you are looking for night life, this is not the place to go, but usually after riding, I am just ready for a seat on the porch, hanging out with other guests. They do not sell adult beverages, but you are more than welcome to bring your own. I have met so many great people over the last 3 years. Many of us go back year after year!! I briefly considered this place over the summer but never followed up enough to see for sure that they did horseback riding (we didn't end up going on vacation). They do mention horseback riding and have pictures of people riding horses, though. Looked like a nice place with plenty to do...
