Hospital Recommendations....????

My husband and I are expecting our first child in April, 2006. I was wondering if anyone had preferences between Southern Maryland Hospital and Civista Medical Center. Not sure which one to go through to find an OB/GYN...any recommendations or comments would be greatly appreciated!!

I would find an ob/gyn your comfortable with first before you find the hospital. The hospital stay is only a few days but you figure your gonna be seein your doc alot over the next few months.

Be about it
I delivered a babe at Southern MD Hospital Center and had a wonderful experience. My doctor at the time worked out of both hospitals, though, and it was up in the air as to which one I'd actually go to when the time came. I toured Civista and was impressed w/their set-up as well.

So happy!
I had my little girl at SMH and everything was fine. I liked it there. My docter was Dr Neal. I really liked her and her partner.

I had my son in SMH with no problems. I was seeing Dr Dickson and Dr Nettey. They have an office in both Waldorf and Clinton.

Doctors...

Anyone familiar with Deborah Bushrod or Elizabath Kane in Waldorf? My preference is for a female OB/GYN given this in my first - I think I'd feel more comfortable.

Most likely I'll end up at Southern Maryland.......

Thanks for all the advice so far!

Dr. Alawode - SMHC! :yay:

Ditto that, big time!!!

Don't go to CIvista - if the birthing rooms are anything like the waiting and ER, your baby will be arriving in one of the filthiest hospitals around.

Ive had one at Southern Maryland and one at Civista.. Southern Maryland was ok but they had a ton of interns from the college at the time and they made life really easy.

With my Son we had him at Civista.. Their Birthing rooms are really nice and St. Mary's hospital was the same. Dont know if they redid their birthing rooms at Southern Maryland its been 9 years since I been in their baby ward.

Was just in there 16 months ago and although the rooms are not as big as the ones at St Mary's.....I was a lot more comfortable knowing that if anything went wrong with the baby I would be in the same hospital with him.

Anne Arundel Medical Center :yay:

:yeahthat: my daughter was born in the old AA hospital, but it was a very good experience, everyone there was great. And I am sure the new hospital is even better.
