Hotels in DC

watercolor

yeah yeah
Looking for some ideas of hotels that you have stayed in, located in DC near the Kennedy Center, or within a metro stop that runs towards that way. (if the metro is going to run that early.. I dont know if it does). And one that is not outlandishly priced. It will only be overnight. TIA!

Good Luck with that. All hotels in DC, are $$.

There are no Metrorail stops close to the Kennedy Center. I think Foggy Bottom is the closest and that's about a 4-5 block walk. Not sure about the buses, I don't ride them. I'd take a cab first.

A couple of years ago we caught Kennedy Center shuttle from Foggy Bottom to the Kennedy Center.

That's correct, nearest Metrorail stop is Foggy Bottom on the Orange line.

If you're on a budget, I'd be looking at hotels/motels across the river around Clarendon Blvd/Rosslyn or even out to Ballston areas of Arlington. You should be able to find something in the $100-$130 range with access to the Orange line. Maybe even less. It's a short trip across the river by metrorail.

The Kennedy Center area is the Watergate area & very $$$$$$.

We stay at the Hotel Harrington on 11th street when going to the Warner. It's old but clean. Rooms are tiny, but clean. Price was $99. We always plan way in advance. good luck http://www.hotel-harrington.com/

That should work out pretty well b/c you can enter the 11th St entrance of the Metro Center station, where the red, orange & blue lines are available. Take the orange line, direction Vienna/Fairfax, to get to Foggy Bottom in three stops.
