Have a 4 year old tabby House cat , DECLAWED , Neutered that has gotten out the house and as been roaming neighborhood for 2 weeks . Every night around 2AM , my wife & I either see Owen or Hear him , but he refuses to come to door & runs away into darkness . We place food & water out on deck , but between other outdoor cats, coons & possums , who knows if Owen is making food disappear . ANY ideas on how to lure hm back into house or if we should allow him to remain outdoor cat. Owen before getting loose would spend HOURS looking out window not like our other cats who could care less . ANY SUGGESTIONS

A trap is your best choice. Really, allowing him to run around with his primary defensive weapons removed isnt an option IMHO. They dont cost much.

I had a cat years ago and had his front claws removed. When he started peeing in the house (not in his litter box), the vet suggested that I let him outside sometimes. I was concerned because he was declawed and wouldn't be able to protect himself if he got into a fight.

Here is what the vet told me (his professional opinion - not mine): "If he still has his back claws, he will be fine. Have you ever seen cats fight? They will grab each other with their front claws, but the real 'fighting' is done with the back feet and claws as they try to gouge each other in their vital midsections. Also, if a dog gets after a cat, the cat can usually outrun them to a car, tree or fence in which they can jump up on much easier than a dog and be out of dangers way."

So, there's some food for thought for you.

:coffee: Thought about getting trap from Tractor Supply , but catching him in a trap would really FREAK him out !

He is VERY TIMID around people and other animals so I don't believe he would go looking for trouble and would RUN.

First of all, show me a cat that could care less about anything unless it would frustrate their human servants.

Throw the cat out. It will live if it is good enough. If not, may the cats of many forever clog up your vacuum cleaner with hairballs and fur forever, along with spitballs of chewed up carpet and drapes.

Cats are worthless, unless they bring food to eat.

Out.

I have a feeling you feed kittens & puppies to your pet Gator in Florida ! May be even little kids

What ever happened to the HD Tony Stewart? It's only been over four years - change your name.

Do you have a few kids you need disposing of? Take care of it yourself.

I would only feed gators to stinking gators. Cats are worthless, and they will make themselves available as gator or coyote meat on their own, just like dogs. They were around for a long time outside before they came inside to destroy the house.

If you have one, keep them inside at your own cost.

Period.

PS: I'm not a cat person, but not against cats. Just laugh at those that allow cats to rule them.

:coffee: Joey Logano drives that HomeDepot 20 Car, soon to be driven by Matt Kenseth . NO ONE can & will ever replace what TS:yahoo: did driving that HD20 car . NO KIDs to dispose of . I'm not really a CAT lover , wife "adopted" 3 stray kittens at 3 months old and we had them for 4 years now . Cats don't really RULE us unless NOT feed at 500 AM . Owen whom got outside is kinda timid & shy so we're kinda concern if he will " MAKE IT "

Owen has decided to return home :yahoo:. Being outdoor for 3 weeks running from yard to yard , eating scraps , drinking rain water & running from danger was TOO much . He was a Touch me not cat , now he will not get off our lap and can't get enough petting

That is good news! My male neutered, declawed cat was out for a MONTH before he decided to come home! None the worse for wear either. Glad you got yours back....:yahoo:
