I'll post this on technology too. Looking for a cordless house phone that has speakerphone on the base, not the handset, along with handsfree mute on both the handset and base. Any recommendations? I find a ton with speaker on the handset, but you can't have the handset in the cradle while on it (thus the charge of the handset becomes an issue). TIA.

My older (2.4ghz) Vtech has that. Not sure what you mean by hands free mute though. You just tell it to shut up?

It is hands free/mute.... toggles between the two.

Get one with multiple handsets then you don't have the charging problem. Also if you want the clean and the best sounding you want one using Dect 6.0.

Get one with multiple handsets then you don't have the charging problem. Also if you want the clean and the best sounding you want one using Dect 6.0.

Does it have speakerphone and mute? I like the idea about sound; since going digital I notice sound a lot more. I use it for work so lots of conference calls (which is why speakerphone and mute are so important). Thanks much for the info!

yes but not on the base, but you get 3 handsets and your golden

Well the reason I need handsfree mute is so when I do tell someone to shut up they can not hear me say it. It's a button that allows handsfree (speaker) and then it also does the mute. It may be separate buttons. I just remember the term from my corporate days.

ya my phone has that. i use it a lot when yelling at verizon
