ADC Map, I can think of a few better things to put on the cover rather than that bridge.

The cover isn't attractive. They should have taken a picture of the Calvert side from the bridge, that would have been better.

St. Mary's has a picture of the Vistor's Center for Historic St. Mary's City (it is a barn), which if fitting. Prince George's County, 2004 addition, shows the front of the old District Court building before it caught on fire. Charles County has the Old Port Tobacco school, maybe they should have put some kids on there holding up gang symbols.

What would you have put on the cover if it was your choice Slap? :lmao:

I think it's a pretty good representation of the history and future of Calvert county. The field and barns reflect the agricultural part, the boat shows a connection with the water, and the bridge shows the connection with the rest of the world.

The whole freaking out about the "big bad bridge" because of a sad accident 1000 miles away is getting rediculous. One week ago nobody would have said anything about the bridge, but now we're supposed to pretend it doesn't exist?

Say what you will about its structural integrity, but it's a relatively pretty bridge to look at. Maybe not the Golden Gate, but still not bad.

From an architectural standpoint, the TJ is a very attractive structure. It’s also one of the most recognized landmarks in our region. I don’t see anything wrong with having it on that cover.

I think it is a matter of what is attractive to the eye, and to me, the water, nature as a whole, is what catches my eye, but what you are saying puts it in a different light than what I originally thought. I can see that.

As far as the TJ Bridge, many have complained about structural issues in the past and this recent bridge collapse just has people questioning the safety of the bridge as a whole, and that just isn’t the TJ Bridge but all over, all the bridges, I think.

Guess a photo of the bridge is good enough for the county to put it in the visitor guide.....http://www.co.cal.md.us/visitors/

I when you say "the bridge" in Calvert or St. Marys, most folks know to what you refer. It is probably the most recognizable thing around, so why not use it?

BTW MMDad, good response tying in the bridge, barn and boat.:yay:

See how pretty that bridge picture is? It is nature with a bridge in the middle. I like it! :yay:
Much nicer picture. The boat in front of the barn in the other one is really odd. Well, not the boat, but the fact that it's in the picture.

Stop Staring!!!!!
I am sitting here trying to remember if the suicide prevention fence is up now or not. I know they were talking about it. It's not in the pic.

Heck I just went over it yesterday and still can't remember if the fence is there or not.

Could not remember what the outcome was. I just remeber hearing about some discussion on it.

Hope they don't.
