How bizzare

<BFONT size="2">Several hundred people turned out for a vigil in Frederick for 20-year-old Jarrel Gray, the city man who died Sunday after a county sheriff's corporal shocked him with a Taser.
<!PARA1!><!PARA1!>
The vigil was held Tuesday evening in the 700 block of Ladd Circle, near where Gray was shocked as police tried to break up a fight. Tanya Gray said her son should not have died that way. She told WFMD radio she'd rather her son was beaten because at least he'd be alive.

Although the family is mourning Jarrel's loss, they said they forgive the corporal who used the Taser.

The sheriff's office says Gray was given two shocks, about 23 seconds apart.

His cousin (?) also died from being tasered. I wonder if they had some sort of neurological disorder in that family.

This actually has my attention.

And good for the family for forgiving the officer.

I'm glad they were able to forgive. It does beg the question as to whether or not they shared something that could cause that devestating of a reaction to the taser.

Tasers are killing a lot of people. Police should go back to the use of the baton. I have said it before.

Of course when the batons were used Police had to be men of large stature. Little women do not make an impression with a baton.

We should never have changed the physical requirements of police officers for PC purposes. Even Barney Fife had trouble making the weight requirement. They used a piece of log chain to hold his dogtags,so he could make it.

When we changed those requirements along came Pepper spray and the Taser and both have been misused on occasion. Sometimes the Pepper spray just makes the idiot madder and the Taser kills.

Certainly it looks bad when a police officer goes upside a person's head with a baton, but mostly the fighting stops and no one dies.

Mostly no one dies. Mostly no one dies being tasered too. It's all the same #### really. Sometimes mistakes happen when they try to fight with the police and they die. I don't think tasers or batons are going to change the number of poeple who die by the police's hands.

Also, good for the cops for doing their jobs. And I'm glad the family forgave them...as the family should have.
