thanks for the link. I actually did that search myself before I posted. I read over the article but didn't notice anything about how long someone with it would still be contagious after starting meds.

I was under the impression that it wasn't that contagious. How old is the kid that has it? And does he have it in his mouth? You pretty much have to have direct contact..using a pacifier or sticking you fingers in the mouth, etc.

I used to work in a day care center with the babies. We never had the other children get it if one happened to have it. And if I recall, the med's work rather fast with clearing it up. You have to be sure that anything that goes into the month is cleaned up really good or it would seem that the same child would get it again. I think some kids just get it and others never do. Sorta like that staph thing that is going around, some people get it and others can be around it all day and never get it.

No kissing. And just keep washing her hands, etc. if she touches stuff ..toys, etc. You get the idea.

Thrush-Cause

In otherwise healthy toddlers and older children, thrush is usually not contagious. However, a child with a weakened immune system may develop thrush by sharing infected toys or pacifiers with a child who has the infection. A child with thrush spreads the thrush fungus onto anything the child puts in his or her mouth. Another child may then get thrush by putting an infected object into his or her mouth.
