How do we take credit cards?

We are refocusing our business to a local need for wireless services. Until now we have only done broadcast engineering consulting as a service business to commercial entities.
Now we are going to sell systems to enhance cell coverage in buildings and vehicles. We got a sales tax license and we are setting up a web page.
I want to take credit cards via the web and directly from customers when I do an installation. Should I have my bank do the processing or should I go to one of the services offered? We have used pay pal until now, but they do not allow nonmembers to pay them via credit card.

You don't have to be a member of paypal to pay one of their members with a credit card unless that's changed in the last two weeks?

Thanks. I was mistaken. Is paypal a good way to do this? Is it cheaper another more conventional way? I would rather not have the paypal image and I also wish to be able to do a swipe at POS, when it is an installation.
We are going to buy ads on SOMDcom also. The price per household seems to be the best media buy around here. Are there other good ways to promote around here (beside the local radio stations)?
