No. Not all. There are many that only allowed a simple digital, (digital dumb), meter to be installed, during the elimination of the old mechanical meters, that still require a physical in-person meter read and that do not communicate at all with anything. And for that privilege, a SMECO customer, "co-op member", pays an extra $17 a month extortion fee. So those people are safe from having their power cut off from a SMECO employee's, or government employee's, computer terminal. The only way in the case of these people to turn off their power, is to manually pull the meter from it's meter box housing, as was done in the past.
