How many members of the Bush Administration are needed to replace a light bulb?

jlabsher

Sorry about that chief.
Seven:

"1. One to deny that a light bulb needs to be replaced,

"2. One to attack and question the patriotism of anyone who has questions about the light bulb,

"3. One to blame the previous administration for the need of a new light bulb,

"4. One to arrange the invasion of a country rumored to have a secret stockpile of light bulbs,

"5. One to get together with Vice President Cheney and figure out how to pay Halliburton Industries one million dollars for a light bulb,

"6. One to arrange a photo-op session showing Bush changing the light bulb while dressed in a flight suit and wrapped in an American flag,

"7. And finally one to explain to Bush the difference between screwing a light bulb and screwing the country."

Ooops. Sorry, this would be the *CLINTON* administration.

I swear, the first term of his I was ready to lose it if I heard ONE MORE TIME, "the previous twelve years of Republican administrations". Never heard so much blame-shifting in my life.

He changed his tune on his second term. Then he just blamed the Republican Congress.

Seems like all presidents engage in that blame game to one degree or another.

Clinton would be the first I ever heard do it to great length. His blaming of "the previous 12 years" began to really grate on my nerves, because he used it for years, continuously.

I don't recall Reagan or Bush doing it at all, or even blaming the Democrats in Congress for it.

Carter did it just a little bit. I don't recall Nixon even bothering to blame Democrats. Maybe he was too busy blaming Communists.

Prior to Nixon, I don't recall or recall having read the kind of partisan blame shifting. Not with Kennedy, LBJ or Ike. Politics was bitter then, and has always been dirty. I mean, ask Barry Goldwater if they did it back then.

No I really see it as Clinton being the first one in the White House pointing the blame backward. And while I DO see the blame being pointed backward from the right, I still don't see it coming from Bush. He never gets into the insulting business.
