How many votes will Trump get?

2016 = 62,984,828
2020 = 74,223,975

11+ M vote increase. Pre covid, Trump's economy was humming along fine. Fuel costs were reasonable. The border was somewhat secure.

But I'm not seeing the boat flotillas with vessels covered with Trump flags. Unless they aren't being reported, I don't hear of the miles long car parades of Trump supporters.

Given the state of the nation for the last 3+ years, you think Trump would be in line to get the most votes ever. So is 2024 going to be similar to 2016 or will we need 4 days to count votes until the chosen candidate gets the right number of ballots?

74 million was more than any Presidential candidate had ever gotten. It totally wiped out Obama’s record in 2008 (which he himself was not able to replicate in 2012).

Only problem was, somehow someone who never campaigned AT ALL beat THAT number by ANOTHER 7 million.

Honestly I don’t think 2024 will produce anywhere near the record turnout of 2020.

Right now I have to hope that there are enough American voters who will pause and ask - before we hand over the office of the head of the most powerful nation on earth - we’d actually want to know more than feelings and vibes. That enough will NOT fall for her rebranding.

Not confident.

In 2016 Trump ran against the most hated candidate in history. He was also fresh and called out the GOP for all their hateful deeds like the war in Iraq. He was a regular guest on Morning Joe, he hosted SNL, he had boat parades, then he became president and this country entered a hell few of us could have imagined.

There are no flotillas today because no one wants to go back to empty stores.

Sure, we all love 8 dollar a lb ground beef. Me, I'm glad Sam's has 10 lb tubes of 94% for 40 bucks or so.
