How Semiconductors Ruined East Germany

Socialist/Communist policies doomed East Germany. Pretty much any nation that doesn't allow its' citizens free passage is doomed at some point. The speed of the decline depends on if the citizens have arms or not. North Korea is holding on by it's fingernails since they don't seem capable of feeding their entire population.
True ... discussing Electronics the Russians were paranoid and would not share, and the DDR wasted billions trying to build an industry.
