How to become a mortgage settlement business

I am not sure if anyone knows, but I need some information on how to become certified to close on mortgages. What I am looking to do is similiar to a title company, with the expection that I would be the person that came to your home and did refinances and settlements. I would still do all the paperwork, etc. I am not sure how to get started to where to find information on this. Does anyone know where I should start?

Not sure what kind of information you are looking for and most established mortgage processing companies prolly won't be too cooperative (they don't want more competition)... but I did read recently that the MD laws have become more strict concerning qualifications and licensing. Might wanna check this out:

Those state people are very helpful sometimes if you email them about licensing and business info. Good luck...
