So, a fan made this animation, which Musk not only confirmed is pretty accurate, but added they now plan to catch the second stage with the same mechanism...... That giant tower riding trolley is lifted and lowered by a piece of offshore oil rig tech called a drawworks. Large rapidly moving hoist sort of thing, allows the rig and well pipe to move up and down at different rates.
