That is so sad too. Not all military wives are like that. Ones like that give some of us a bad Rep.

No, they are not. Unfortunately, stupid people like to associate conditions with the crime/sin. I could tell some horror stories about some of the men I've worked with in the military, but its just thier nature...nothing to do with the military.

I was in the Navy, and while I have worked with men who are complete losers (and women too), but I have met ALOT of military wives who unfortunately who are really clueless about what their husbands do and what command they are in. I realize part of it is that they have to care to ask what they do (of course some jobs can not really say what they do, but that is only about 2% of the Navy at least), plus the husbands have to tell them about it too.

I have met a couple ladies who LITTERLY had to tell me what is on their husband's ballcap so I could figure what command they were in (IE one lady said her husband had a pelican on his ball cap, so that was VP-45 and another one said she remembered it had a bull on it). Pretty sad. I am surprised they even paid attention. One of these ladies knew her husband was an E-5, but did not know what he did. I guess as long as there was a pay check on the 1st and 15th

Most of the ladies I was in the Navy with who are married and their husband's are civies, 99% of them used to be in the military themselves, so their husbands pretty much had a clue what their wife does.

How many wives of civilian men could answer the same, I wonder.
Another thing too is, a lot of military jargon/tradition, command structure and operating policy is just boring to civlians. Generally, they usually don't want to understand how things work, just that you're doing your job. Crap, there's a lot of it that bores me.

I think you should become familiar with where your husband works though...that's a bit retarded. LOL

I am sure it is difficult for a "beginner" military wife. Especially because everything is said in abbreviations.

Me...my Dad was military and so that was a second language to me.
