How was Lemony Snicketts?

Awesome! On a scale of 1 to 10 it was most definately a 10! Wouldn't of changed a thing about it... can't wait until the next one!

Definitely a 10+! And if you don't like the story line, you'll without a doubt love the cinematography. It was an absolutely gorgeous picture!

:yeahthat: It was great! My son started the series of books about a year and a half ago and has read 10 of them. He's getting book number 11 for Christmas. We are all anxiously awaiting the next movie! I thought the movie was based on the 1st book. My son said it was a combination of a few of the books. We give it :yay: :yay:

We've seen it twice. At times you forget it's Jim Carrey hiding in many of the characters. Then there are times it's painfully obvious.

The children are adorable as is Maryl Streep.

Is it a movie you can understand even thougth you haven't read the book?
Yes, you just need to be able to grasp the concept that this movie (and the books) are based on the series of unfortunate events the children have had to face since the untimely death of their parents. It is a dark tale, nothing like the huggy, feely, gushy Disney type movies.

I was NOT looking forward to seeing this movie and I only went to appease the kids. I ended up loving it. I wouldn’t have changed a thing. My oldest son has been joking with me, because I nearly came out of my seat when the viper darted out. The movie has mystery, humor, adventure, and action all wrapped up in one.

I am looking forward to seeing White Noise next weekend. :yay: kidless

"A Series of Unfortunate Events" It is a book series written by Lemony Snicket. Jim Carrey plans the role of Count Olaf. My oldest son, felt the movie was really good, but he has read the books, actually, the first 3 in the series is what the movie was based on. My son is 9, and it is common reading for mainly boys within in the 8-12 year old age bracket.

Saw it yesterday because of this post. Had never heard of Lemony Snicket. I really enjoyed it though, and maybe I'll read a couple of the books myself.

The cinematography was outstanding, but I thought the movie was a little short at only an hour and 45 minutes. It went by way too fast.
