Howard Dean Was Not a Fluke

Remember back to when all the Dems were salivating over the anti-Bush rhetoric of Howard Dean, and how he was supposed to win the nomination in a walk? Remember how after the vocal "majority" cast their votes it was apparent that they were louder than their numbers and Dean had his ass handed to him?

Well... now comes today's primaries for the senate seat that Bob Graham's departure opened up, and four Democrats were fighting for the nomination. Two men, Representative Peter Deutsch of Fort Lauderdale and Mayor Alex Penelas of Miami-Dade Countyand, one women, Betty Castor. Both men are well-known pols, and the Castor is best known for being the president of a small college. The men have all been running ads that have the "vocal majority" salivating again. They all talk about "standing up against George Bush", "RUSH TO WAR!", "THE ELECTION WAS STOLEN!!!", etc.

Castor came out during the sole televised debate last week and said she agreed with Bush on Iraq, that we needed to invade, that we needed to cut taxes, and that Bush had done many great things. She also said Clinton's Middle East policies were horrible. She was booed by many Dems in the audience and severly attacked by Deutsch and Penelas.

Well... the counts are in and Castor got over 65% of the vote! Looks like the "vocal majority" of the Democrats has once again been shown to a pitifully small bunch of whiners, and the anti-Bush message doesn't work.
