Hoyer vote on REAL ID Act

BILL TITLE: REAL ID Act

Under the NAYS -> Hoyer

The bill would require states to quit issuing drivers licenses to illegal aliens or loose their federal highway money. Also require ID when voting. Imagine that, you will have to prove who you are before you can vote. I guess dead people won't be able to vote anymore. We shouldn't need a law like this. The states shouldn't issue drivers licenses to illegals anyway, but places like California, just don't get it.

Nobody would seriously believe that Steny would support any law that would disinfranchise people who might be in the "entitlement" class. The guy is a professional panderer to the Democrat base.

This was in the Post Southern Maryland Edition. The vote went along party lines with Bartlett (R) NV. Virginia was also along party lines. I would like to hear Hoyer's reasoning for this.

Not quite party lines. Eight Republicans voted against and 42 Democrats voted for the bill with 11 not voteing.
