The Humane Society of Calvert County is supporting Spay & Neuter Month by providing a $50.00 reimbursement to the first 55 Calvert County Residents that can provide us with the doumentation of a spay or neuter in the month of February or March 2008. We are also partnering with the Humane Society of the United States for spay and neuter month. Spay or neuter surgery carries a one-time cost that is relatively small when one considers its benefits. It's a small price to pay for the health of your pet and the prevention of more unwanted animals. Open to the general public with no income limitations. Extra discounts available for households with income below $45,000 - must get certificate in advance. Participants must call to make an appointment 301-645-8181. Cat Spay $52, Cat Alter $33, Dog Spay (up to 60#) $70, Dog Alter (up to 60#) $55. Extra charges may apply for over weight limit, in heat, pregnant or has cryptorchid. Your veterinarian or any of the above low cost spay and neuter organizations can fully explain spay and neuter procedures to you and discuss with you the best age at which to spay or neuter your pet.
