Hug you!

The sweetest thing just happened to me.

I'm used to my own kids being heartbroken, especially the 20 year old who leads with her heart and not her head. Add hugs, a little understanding, pep talk, kick in the pants, whatever seems to be needed. Lather, rinse, repeat as necessary.

However, today, one of their pals who is over here ALL the time, is now heartbroken having been ditched by the One True Love Bad Boy.

Well, I'm doing a few dishes, she's sitting at the booth kinda quiet, pecking at the lap top and I ask her is she wants some of grandpas fresh from the garden cantaloupe which I'd just cut up and she says...

"sniff*

"Can I have a hug?"

Well...I held on to my composure, hugged her like my own, a little pep talk, a few deep breathes and now she's happily chowing down on some of grandpa's fresh from the garden cantaloupe.

My heart feels warm right now and I'm just a little misty. :yahoo:
