Hunter’s Attorney’s Defense Of The ‘So-Called Laptop’ Is So Ludicrous, It’s Laughable

The letters were taken by many as a sign that Hunter was finally confirming that Hunter’s laptop left at John Paul Mac Isaac’s repair shop was actually his. Readers will remember that 51 former intelligence officials claimed that the New York Post’s original 2020 report on the computer was “Russian disinformation.” In turn, Twitter censored the story, and the rest is history. Hunter has never denied or confirmed that it’s his laptop, so the legal request sent this week appeared to be a stunning admission.

Then his attorneys released a statement so ludicrous, it is laughable. Biden’s counsel claimed that the request for a criminal investigation does not in any way confirm that the laptop is actually his.

“These letters do not confirm Mac Isaac’s or others’ versions of a so-called laptop,” Hunter’s attorney Abbe Lowell told Fox News. “They address their conduct of seeking, manipulating, and disseminating what they allege to be Mr. Biden’s personal data, wherever they claim to have gotten it.”

Huh?

The law offices not confirming that the computer in question and its contents are real — they just want the DOJ to investigate key figures who reported on it and shared its contents? Where did this team of attorneys come from — the Law Offices of Dewey, Cheatem, and Howe?

Maybe he has illegally downloaded movies on it. In Get Hard Kevin Hart's character was in prison for downloading movies illegally.

Hunter Biden’s shady biz partner handled transfer of Joe’s Senate papers to Delaware

Emails from first son Hunter Biden’s infamous laptop show that one of his business partners in an alleged influence-peddling operation helped coordinate the transfer of President Biden’s Senate papers to the University of Delaware — a haul which may have included “sensitive” and “classified” documents.

Former Rosemont Seneca Advisors President Eric Schwerin communicated with Biden’s deputy counsels Katherine Oyama and Michael Mongan in the lead-up to the delivery of the trove, and concerns were expressed by the Obama White House about the contents of the donation.

“Eric: Cynthia [Hogan, Joe Biden’s White House counsel] requested that I e-mail you the draft deed of gift for the Vice President’s senate [sic] papers, which was submitted to our office in the fall … Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions,” Mongan emailed Schwerin on March 12, 2010, a message posted online by the nonprofit research group Marco Polo USA.

Knowing what is coming Hunter's lawyers want to get everything retrieved from the laptop declared inadmissable in court. If this happens both Hunter and Dementia Daddy will gain protection.

And Biden's lawyers are already going through the boxes before the FBI is called in.

EXCLUSIVE: 'Maybe we were asked for a favor?' Secret Service accused of a 'cover-up' over its alleged involvement in police probe when Hunter Biden's lover Hallie dropped his handgun in a trash can near a school in 2018

  • Hallie Biden, Hunter's girlfriend - and the ex-wife of his late brother Beau - threw his handgun into the trash at a Delaware supermarket in 2018
  • The Secret Service has always denied being involved in the incident, as Joe Biden was not vice president at the time and not under their protection
  • Emails obtained by Judicial Watch show Secret Service agents questioning why they were involved, with one saying: 'Maybe we were asked a favor?'

Hunter Biden just made Republicans' investigation a lot easier

In this latest matter, Lowell appears to be channeling the same strategy of Steve Bannon who was ultimately charged with contempt and convicted. At the time, I said that Bannon was asking for a contempt charge and Biden appears to be replicating this same ill-considered strategy.

Lowell would have been far smarter to turn over some material to the Committee in good faith while seeking to negotiate on the scope of the inquiry. A categorical refusal gives the Committee ample basis to issue a subpoena. Lowell is simply wrong that there is "no legislative purpose" in seeking information on possible influence peddling by the Biden family that could involve the President himself. Such corruption scandals have been part of congressional inquiries from the XYZ Affair to the Teapot Dome scandal to the investigation of Trump family business interests.

Lowell left open the door to Comer convincing him of some "legitimate legislative purpose" in meetings, but the letter went too far in its categorical rejection of the initial demand. Comer is likely to balk at having to convince Hunter Biden of the "legitimacy" of his investigation. A court would likely support the Committee's right to such evidence for financial and communication records. While the Committee will not necessarily get everything, it is likely to prevail on threshold issue of the right to such evidence.

Hunter Biden’s link to disgraced ex-FBI official Charles McGonigal

The FBI’s reputation problems have accelerated with the arrest on corruption charges of Charles McGonigal, the former chief of counterintelligence for the FBI’s New York field office, one of the most powerful spy-hunters in the country — who also happened to be connected to Hunter Biden.

In twin indictments last month, McGonigal was charged with taking secret cash payments from a former Albanian intelligence officer, holding secret meetings with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, and attempting to remove top Kremlin oligarch Oleg Deripaska from a US sanctions list.

The Albanians cited by prosecutors tie this scandal to Hunter Biden and the Chinese energy company CEFC that paid him and uncle Jim millions of dollars in a deal which Joe Biden was slated to join after his vice presidency ended.

According to prosecutors, McGonigal received $225,000 in cash in the fall of 2017 while he was the FBI’s counterintelligence chief in New York, from an Albanian former intelligence official, identified in the Albanian and European media as Agron Neza.

Russian billionaires who shopped for US property with Hunter Biden and dined with Joe dodge sanctions

New details of Joe and Hunter Biden’s association with Yelena Baturina and Vladimir Yevtushenkov flesh out tantalizing clues from the first son’s abandoned laptop. The sources spoke with The Post this week after the duo was yet again spared a fresh batch of sanctions announced by the Treasury Department Friday.

“I think it’s very fishy,” said one source who had firsthand knowledge of the business relationship between Hunter Biden and Yevtushenkov — who is sanctioned by the UK and Australia but not by the US.

“I think he should be sanctioned,” Michael McFaul, a former US ambassador to Russia under President Barack Obama, told The Post of Yevtushenkov — estimated by Forbes to be worth $1.7 billion. “I don’t understand why he has not been.”

Hunter Biden files counterclaims against computer repairman over handling of infamous laptop

Attorneys representing Hunter Biden filed his answer and counterclaims alleging invasion of privacy in response to a defamation lawsuit brought by the Delaware-based computer repairman who they say triggered the infamous laptop controversy in the weeks leading up to the 2020 presidential election.

The step represents a major escalation in the younger Biden's increasingly aggressive legal posture toward some of his most vocal critics and those who allegedly trafficked his personal information.

The suit, filed in a Delaware federal court, targets John Paul Mac Isaac, a computer repairman who in April 2019 purportedly obtained and later disseminated data from a laptop allegedly belonging to the president's son. The counterclaim is in response to a defamation lawsuit filed by Mac Isaac against Hunter Biden and others in October 2019, which is ongoing.
