Huntingtown Gophers

Trying to fight inflation, we planted a garden.

Gophers have set up housekeeping under a shed near the house, and are destroying garden plants.

Options considered:

Buy a trap, but a pretty pricey option for something hopefully only to be used once;

Hire a company to trap/kill them. Expensive. Very.

Ultrasonic is a scam.

Poison. We've noticed that the quality of everything is plummeting these days. Too many reviews on Amazon say "doesn't work"

Invest hours sitting staring at the hole with a rifle in hand.

Looked at state and local Animal Control and also at Wildlife Management websites. Pretty much says, "not our problem".
Then why are my tax dollars paying you?

Is there anyone out there that has a trap we could borrow for a couple of weeks? We're in Huntingtown.

Edit: after 123 views, thanks for the outpouring of support. Nice folks on here.

Dump a mixture of bleach and ammonia in their holes. You could also have fleet of tom cats to kill them.

Also, a lever-action .22 is fun for plinking off varmints.
