Hurricane Victims log on?

I was watching tv this weekend and I forget what channel it was, CNN or MSNBC news. They came on and said (or something to this effect) "If you are a hurricane victim that would like to get in touch with your family and let them know you are ok, please log on to www.msnbcnews (or cnn news which ever one it was) and find out how.

First of all, how are those poor people with no belongings or electricity supposed to see this broadcast?

Second, even if they are the scattered few that have been taken to a shelter where hundreds of people are being housed do they really think they have internet access available to them?

You need to log on to www.msn.com . Then - look to the right side of the screen - it will take you to the Katrina sites. You can look and see if your family members or friends are on the "safe list" or you can put an e-mail out looking for them.

As far as people getting to a computer.......some of the shelters are keeping computers up and running to help those who need to get in touch with family.
