Husky on the loose

QueenB

It's not HaHa time....
My 7mo Husky got loose this afternoon and took off with a stray dog. We think it is a beagle/yellow lab mix. They are running free on Sotterly and Pinto Rd. I have been out trying to catch her. But everytime I get close, the stray runs away and she runs with him. If anyone has seen them or can catch her, please call 301-373-3753. She answers to the name Lil Bit and Layla... She has eye glass markings around her face.

My little houdini is at it again, She got out of her collar this morning and took off without looking back. We are on Sotterly Road, I have called the Vet already and Chesapeake Pet Paradise (I think thats the name). She doesnt have her collar on, but she IS microchipped and answers to the name of Layla. SO is out looking for her right now! She is extremly friendly. Same info as the previous post.

She has got to be loving this snow! Unfortunately, she probably blends right in with it. I do hope you catch her soon.

My sister in law just called about a sweet husky that ran out in the road she has her and should be calling you shortly. :huggy:

Hope that's her!

Do you ever wonder if the dog is thinking, "How in the world does that stranger know my name?!"

Maybe start your own thread so your request for help doesn't get buried by people responding to QueenB's request.

Talk to people that live in the area that you are searching. Hand out fliers. If people see a dog matching Layla's description, they may be more inclined to check...

Try searching during the early evening as darkness sets in. I noticed this when looking for my lost pup ~ there was less noise, my voice carried further and I could hear better.

I hope that you get your dog back. :huggy:

:howdy: QueenB, hope you find your "Houdini!!" On a related note, Hubby and I were heading to Leonardtown this morning and stopped at the Burchmart in Mechanicsville so he could get some ice off of his wipers. There was a really sweet Husky hanging around the store. Had what looked like either a bark or electric fence collar on. If we hadn't had to be somewhere, we probably would have tossed it into the truck with us.

When we came back through around Noon, we took a spin through the parking lot, but no doggy. Hope he/she went back home and is safe and sound. If anyone in that vicinity is missing a Husky with a collar on, you might want to check with the folks at the Burchmart/BP. I tried to post a thread via my cell phone this morning, but apparently...

:stupid:

:tap: So was it her??

I'm pretty sure. They called the number, but no answer so they drove around the area and found people with a collar and a leash looking for a lost huskey and seemed to know her. I sure hope it was the right people/dog. I was hoping QueenB would let us know.

Sorry guys for the delay, it was a hectic day at work yesterday. It was her. Thank you to the people that found her, I felt so bad, my fiance was outside in the snow walking around looking for her. The gentleman's house she ran to in October, even came over on Sunday to check and make sure it was in fact her and that we got her back. We are currently on "supervised visitation" whenever she goes outside, even at 2am... but she is one of my kids. We are going to rig something up in our field so she can get out there a few times a week and just run wide open without having to worry about her breaking free. Especially with the snow, she gets an extra umph in her step and wants to go go go. Once again, thank you to all of you that helped and offered to help look for her.

The picture was her from the last snowfall and this time it was more snow so she was definitely in camo mode so to speak

Do you think maybe putting a harness type of leash on her would help?

I am not sure, I have thought about that, but she chews on the leash and tries to chew on her collars, so I am afraid that it wont last with her.
