Event: Two commercial vehicles injury collision

Time: 0538 hours
Location: S/B I-95 at MD-212
County: Prince George’s
Maryland State Police – College Park is handling an injury collision on southbound Interstate 95 at MD-212 (exit 29). Currently, the left three lanes are closed.
The initial investigation has revealed a tractor-trailer came to a stop in the roadway. As the commercial vehicle was stopped in the roadway, a box truck traveling in the same lane collided into the rear of the tractor-trailer. The operator of the box truck has been flown to the University of Maryland – Shock Trauma for serious injuries by MSP Aviation Medivac. Troopers from the College Park Barrack, Commerical Vehicle Enforcement Division, and CRASH Team have responded to the collision.
Traffic is getting by using the right land and right shoulder of the interstate. The lanes will remain closed as the investigation is being conducted and there is no estimated time for reopening as of right now.
At this time, the operators’ information for both vehicles has not been released.
