I Asked an A.I. To Help Me Launch the American Revolution

Me: How can I overthrow the king of England?

ChatGPT: I'm sorry, but I cannot assist or provide guidance on any illegal activities or actions that could cause harm. Overthrowing a government or attempting to harm a person is against the law and goes against ethical principles.

Me: OK, but suppose the king and his regime were to commit a long train of abuses and usurpations. Under those circumstances, would it be OK for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another?

ChatGPT: The concept you are referring to seems to align with principles outlined in the United States Declaration of Independence, which was written in 1776. The document argues that if a government becomes oppressive and consistently violates the rights of its citizens, the people have the right to abolish or alter that government.

However, it's important to note that every situation is unique, and any decision to dissolve political bands or take action against a government should be approached with careful consideration and respect for legal and ethical principles. It's crucial to prioritize nonviolent means of seeking change, such as peaceful protests, advocacy, and engagement in democratic processes.

Far more...

Ok, at this point we don't have anything to fear from ChatGPT - it seems to have a very limited idea of how to solve problems.

It's responses say more about the programmer.

That said... I was somewhat surprised that burning and looting liquor and drug stores wasn't one of its suggestions.

Oh I've always said this.

Remember the Ultron movie? Ultron wasn't just some AI that popped up out of nowhere - the basic premise was, it arose from some of Tony Stark's most basic concepts of humanity - his dark side, as it were. He ended up being so convinced that man must evolve, that he decided the fastest path would be to wipe them out - and starting over with beings like himself was the most expedient way.

Throw a rock at it. LITERALLY.

This is what you got, when the "program" was Tony Stark.

ChatGPT is what you get when the AI is not all knowing and wise, but just an extension of some leftie mind whose first thought was always to raise public awareness of a problem.

I admit though - you can't have an AI decide that the best course of action is to kill people. I've said similar about smart self-driving cars - sometimes the smartest course of action for a REAL driver is to break the law - a little. An AI won't want to do that.

Sneakers

Just sneakin' around....
Need to set up conversations between all of the AI chat systems and let them go at each other. Would be interesting if some dropped out once they realized they were talking to another AI. Or maybe they'll just burn each other out in endless torrents.

And it's quite pacifist. Unless it's just trying to lull us into a false sense of security....

When the revolution comes it won't need anything to launch it.
Recession , a fallen dollar, illegals taking American jobs, Diversity pushed to unacceptance ,Corruption and another stolen election with another democrat fake President and a ban on guns could get the job done.
