I Can’t Breath

CDC guidelines say people with breathing issues should not wear masks. Anyone here been successful with this excuse when going into a store that does not serve you unless you are wearing? Some businesses don’t give a damn but others are absolutely stupid over the mask wearing policy. So just curious if they take the “I can’t breath” issue seriously and let you shop.

CVS corporate policy is not to say anything to customers not wearing - just do whatever they can to get you out as quickly as possible. I’ve been in CVS without the tyranny requirement and nothing was said to me.

Mommy Dearest was scolded this past week when a neighbor took her grocery shopping for the first time since mid March. She wore no mask and was repeatedly told by a cashier that she needed one. MD stood her ground and told the cashier that she suffered from COPD and was told to NOT wear a mask. She told me later that she received dirty looks, but nobody tossed her out.

Went to 7-11 in Solomons this afternoon. Calvert Co Deputy walked in right before us without a mask. Cashier immediately handed him a napkin and told him to cover his nose and mouth.

Yes. My story is that I was in the Air Force High Altitude Dive Rescue Program. I suffered an equipment malfunction during "the war" and if I wear a mask it might kill me from my breathing issue. I am universally thanked for my service and allowed to shop at will, much to the consternation of a thousand Karens. I'm not sick you're not sick... move on.

Was the cashier the guy with all the tatoos? I think he may have done hard time. I would cover and thank him for the napkin. :shocking:

Yup. Been quite successful. Just say I have a medical condition that prevents me from wearing a mask. If challenged? I say the, "Americans with Disabilities Act", [The ADA], says that they must provide "reasonable accommodations". Me not wearing a mask? Reasonable.
Shuts them down in an instant. Especially a corporate manager.

Yes, it was that guy. For some reason, he and my husband like to raze each other when we go in there. In a fun way, not mean.

Not sure why more people are not playing the medical card over this mask thing - especially now with the heat/sweating issues. I guess people like the government lying to them and forcing them to do stupid stuff.
