Bulletin

Jimmie Johnson is formally protesting the final results at Kansas. Remember, the results are still unofficial, so NASCAR can change them.

I left when the race was 100 laps in ... what happened?
Race shortened for rain to 60 lap dash. There was a big wreck that Tony and Truex and Kenseth were involved in.

Next run, Keebler elf wrecks Tony as his tire goes down.

More cautions.

Biffle passes Harvick, Bowyer and Johnson chase down Biffle.

3 laps to go: Montoya cuts down a right front and the tire shreds debris everywhere. NASCAR says they'll go GWC than cancels the GWC and finishes under yellow.

Biffle runs out of gas on the frontstretch and Bowyer and Johnson flash by. NASCAR awards the win to Biffle, saying the field was FROZEN at the point of caution, which is NOT what happened at Montreal when Marcos Ambrose dumped Robby under yellow.

Johnson protests Biffle's win, saying it should've gone to Bowyer. I agree. Mind you I don't like Clint and do like Biffle, but I call it as I see it.

NASCAR says you have to maintain pace car speed. Biffle could not do so.

NASCAR spokesman Ramsey Poston said Biffle was the winner because the race ended under caution, the field was frozen and passing is not allowed under caution.
So, are they going to penalize Bowyer and Johnson.

Passing, in fact wrecking other cars, was allowed under caution at Montreal. IF this is the precendent, NASCAR was out to screw Robby at Montreal.

I don't get it. 09-30-2007 09:03 PM You're still an idiot in the new forum version.

 Nice. Would you like to include your two cents or are you going to hide behind anonymous karmabombing, you pussy.

Why do you do this? I mean what are you going to do; Unleash a 89lb. package of nerdy whoop ass on whoever sent you red? Throw your pocket protector at them?

BULLETIN: NASCAR statement on the finish at Michigan

NASCAR Statement on End of Kansas Race: Statement from Ramsey Poston, NASCAR Managing Director, Corporate Communications:“When the caution came out on Lap 207 the field was frozen. At the time of the caution, the #16 was in the lead and maintained a reasonable speed and was declared the race winner. There is no passing under caution. “By rule, cars under caution need to maintain a reasonable speed, which the #16 did. If it hadn’t maintained a reasonable speed or the car had come to a stop, then that car would not have won the race. In this instance the #16 maintained a reasonable speed, crossed the finish and won the race.”(NASCAR PR)(10-1-2007)
NASCAR has set these precendents in the past, and now they do a complete 180°. Jack Roush has no place to complain about Rick Hendrick recieving special treatment, because this is two weeks in a row NASCAR's helped them out.

Again, I like Greg Biffle, but it seemed to me that NASCAR did anything and everything they could to give him the win.

I just call it as I see it.

So, in further clarification...

... It is okay to wreck a guy if you do it quick.

You know, I don't know what the deal is here, but I agree with Jimmie and Jeff on this one.

Biffle said he wasn't out of gas, but he never shut the car off. It ran out. Watch the video on ESPN2.

Andy, you obviously do not watch the same races the rest of us do. Tony blew a tire and suddenly checked up. Skurt had nowhere to go & ran in the back of him. I don't like Skurt at all but facts are facts. Especially when it's all on tape!! :smack::lmao:

I wasn't reffering to the Tony Stewart/Kurt Busch instance there. :smack:

Tony's wreck was Tony/Zippy's fault. I'm reffering to the Kansas-Montreal disconnect.

I really don't care if Tony and Kurt wreck each other, just two less chase contenders for Harvick and Jimmie to contend with.
