I have to make a road trip this week that will take me through PA and Central NY (Binghamton and Syracuse). Since I cannot carry a handgun in NY I need some help. Would you take slugs or 00B for use with a Remington 1100? I also have the option of a pump but I do like the quick back on target of an auto. I like the spread of buckshot but the damage of a slug is a consideration. With a slug I would go for body mass, with buckshot I could be tempted to go for the groin. What say you? TIA.

For 12 gauge they also make the Defender PDX1S, instead of buck with the slug they use a segmenting slug that splits on impact for some really debilitating wounds. For the .410 , instead of the slug it is configured with 3 steel plates and 12 pellets of BB.
