Whats a Kindle?
An electronic book, it holds up to 1500 book, magazines or newspapers and it's as thin as a pencil and it is just awesome!

do you only get to read a section at a time..or is it a fulll page..I am a fast reader and I was worried about having to read in segments...
My mom is a huge reader, would this be a good Christmas present?
Depends on how large you have the type set. The smaller typeface will be just about a full page. My old eyes need it set to where it's about a half page. You click a button to move on to the next page (segment, whatever) and it only takes a nanosecond to change. I tend to flip back through the book to re-read something, and it hasn't been a problem.
Can you save pics to this thing?
I really think it is strictly for reading. You can save some of your favorite passages. Other than that I really don't think so.
That's too bad. It would be great for storing research material.

This thing is beyond wicked cool!!!!
Two years ago I lost partial sight in one eye and the surgery was not completely successful so I had been very limited in what I could read even with various magnification devices. When a friend first showed me the Kindle I found that I could increase the font size to where it was comfortable to read as well as having a very crisp presentation. The DX model was just being released and at first I thought the price was too high but I bought it anyway. I have been thoroughly pleased that I can now read again and I believe it is worth every penny I paid for it. For an older person with sight problems, it is a real treat.
