"High speed swerve"

235 North, lumber in the center lane of the road.

1. Swerve works.

2. No panic

3. I need to pay closer attention to my following distance. It is not all about stopping, it also includes cars straddling debris/obstructions and having the debris/obstruction appear without warning right in front of you.

Car drivers, if you see a 30-40 foot gap between a bike and the car in front of it, don't jam in there. I keep that distance for a reason.

I hate it when that happens :yikes:

Buddy hit a piece of firewood like that last fall. Dented his wheel and his knee put a ding in the tank as he was returning to the seat. He managed to stay up :yay:

You should sell that bike and buy a Vet. :huggy: Glad you're ok.

I like to stay to the left or right of center in my lane, car spooge and debris tend to build up there. Toll plazas are really dangerous for this. I also try to maintain a 2 second cushion between my front tire and whatever is driving in front of me. Try as one might, surprises happen, and that’s where experience and riding skills pay off. Nice job on avoiding a nasty “off”.

I try to as well. I had just changed into the center and was settling in in heavy traffic. I keep good distance but it is a trade off on 235 sometimes. If you leave a good 2-3 second gap some jackass will jam into it and presto you have a 1 second gap again. Back off to get space and whamo they do it again.

Went over the Nice (301) bridge to VA Sunday. I noticed how clean the road was at the toll plaza.

If I had been in a Vette I couldn't have avoided it, but then if I was in a 2007 ZO6 Vette Convertible I wouldn't give a crap about a couple boards.

Fubar

Exception to the rule, kudos to MD at the 301 bridge. Our tax $$$s at work? :lmao:
Seriously, watch where you plant your foot when stopping to pay the King's Ransom.
Jeeze, y'all can be a contrary lot. Must be why I like it here!
