"START" "RUN" (type in msconfig) click "START UP" tab. You can then uncheck any items you don't want running. I highlighted some in green you want to keep & some in red you can uncheck. No color means I don't know.... You can always go back in & recheck anything if you notice weird shiat happening. You'll have to reboot.

you might want to be careful with that though. If you disable something that requires starting with the computer, you might not be able to start that program at all when you need it.
ie: windows explorer

Open up a console Window:
Type in


format c:/s
