I'm super pleased with the work Jay has done w/ my colt...
here are some pix..
the first are Jay and my 3 y.o., Big - 2nd week under saddle at Jay's place.
Then me and Big today on his first trail ride.. 3 weeks under saddle at my place. He was steady as could be. Went in the water, walked down the road w/ cars.. neighborhoods... rolled out w/Jay on a stretch around the cornfield.. Jay's a good man... done good.. Big is a nice boy and he's on his way!!:yahoo:

So who exactly is Jay, a trainer?

Your horse is very nice!

I guess you could say that... Jay Horton. He worked w/ my nieghbors horse so well.. and another friend of mine's horse had a nice turnaround... I don't have much time of my own so I sent him to Jay's. I'm very happy. He's going away to farrier school so I'm glad I got him before he goes.
I think I got my weeks wrong.. I sent Big to Jay's on the 7th of Sept. So Jay had him going well a week later, and on the trail, two weeks later.

Oh, what an adorable horse! I'm such a sucker for a chestnut. He's awful pretty! And he looks happy doing his job, too. Looks like he moves well. What are your plans for him?

Completly off-topic, but I just saw your post in the other forum about the chickens! Glad that they are doing well for you! One rooster and 2 hens is good...I'm always afraid when I sell them young like that that people will end up with all roosters or something. No one wants that!

What a Beautiful horse you have...
:yay: Jay is great. He came out to my farm last yr to work with one of our problem horses. We have one of our mares on a free lease at his farm right now. Great guy

Thanks everyone! I have been so psyched about my ride yesterday.. I love him! JAy is doing a great job w/ him. He's really opened up Big's personality. He's a lot like his sire, Max... (you can see baby pix of him on GVF's website.. and his momma was a big girl I rode for a bit before he was born. She did real well w/me at SMHA a few years back.) He is so much horse..There's a lot of stride. I would love to event w/him one day but for now we'll just start out w/ local stuff.

Hey BrookeValley, how are you? Thanks, I love my chickens.. they are very friendly and I look forward to seeing them every day. Al just started crowing, he's been testing his voice out all week, trying to match my other roo. I gave a bunch of chicks away to a friend this past spring (they were a mess up order from McMurray).. I feel bad because he got maybe 4 girls out of about 15 chickens.:lmao:
