...why Kasich has stayed in the race despite losing everything except his home state:

http://www.cnn.com/2016/04/24/politics/ted-cruz-john-kasich-join-forces-to-stop-donald-trump/index.html?sr=fbCNN042516ted-cruz-john-kasich-join-forces-to-stop-donald-trump0316AMVODtopLink&linkId=23808600

Cruz and Kasich are teaming up - divvying up states where one will basically bow out so the other can hopefully win their delegates and keep Trump from taking that state.

This is filthy dirty politics and I hope with all my heart it backfires on them. All those things the Left has been saying about the GOP - tyrannical, controlling, doesn't have the citizens best interest at heart, nothing better than a bunch of fascists - turns out they were right. That's too bad.

It's pretty clear that Kasich knows he doesn't have a snowball's chance, but has made the deal to help Cruz rip the nomination away from the people's choice so he can at least be VP. However, anyone with any brain cells knows that if by some longshot pencil whipping chicanery on the part of the GOP dictators it works, Hillary will whip the ever lovin' chit out of them and be our next president.

Reince Priebus needs to lose his job. He seriously is the worst strategist I've ever even heard of, and is directly responsible for the demise of his party. Wonder what he's been promised if he tanks the GOP? He can't possibly be doing this for the good of the party - he can't possibly be. Nobody is that stupid. He's been paid off.

It's not dirty politics, it's simply politics. Dirty politics would imply there's some shady deals going on (thought it wouldn't surprise me). All this is being done mostly in plain view of the public.

Problem is how the "rules" are applied. In 2012, when Ron Paul was running, they made a rule saying you can't be nominated unless you win 8 states and didn't even count his votes. Now they're saying the opposite.

Of course, no one gave a #### then when Ron was running, and now they do. I do hope both sides wake up and realize their election process favors the establishment and the people are seeing how ####ty it is. The candidate(s) driving this wake-up-call (I guess you could call it that, even though I don't think anything will change) are horrible, but at least the people are seeing the parties for what they are.

Some are. Hopefully quite a few....but the simple fact that a pathological liar serial-criminal influence-peddling grandmother with zero accomplishments to her name is going to be the Dem nominee certainly suggests that not many people pay attention nor care.

If they were smart, they'd have gotten behind Trump when they saw the writing on the wall - or maybe they're too stupid to read writing anymore? Now he's going rogue and there's no turning back.

RIP GOP.

See, they still think they are the white knights, and if they can just defeat the Dark One (and as we all know, when fighting the Dark One, any tactics are allowed, he is the Dark One, after all) then to voters will come to their senses and the heavens will open and the votes will flow. The still to this day they are self delusional about his appeal to folks outside the people held up for us to see. Like that comedian says about people from the South, "When there's a tornado, do they interview some well spoken lawyer or doctor? Of course not, you get Maybelle the Manicurist who says 'Golly gee, thatthere twister just took the roof plum off Jebs house!!!! Never did see the like'" leading frolks from other parts of the country to think everyone in the south lives in trailer parks and marries their first cousin.

Same thing, the media shows Trump supporters who fit the memes, and the Republicans just nod.

Seeing the GOP trying so desperately to get her elected scares me even more. She literally is being rammed through by both of our major political parties. Why?

Yes, all of a sudden Kasich and Cruz no longer *really want this race to be about the American People. They don't *really want to serve a cause greater than themselves. They don't *really want to work for the common good of the country. :blahblah: :blahblah:

They want their way or they will do whatever they can to sabotage the whole race. Their desperation is pathetic.

They keep saying they want someone who will unite the Republican party - well, kids, this is absolutely not the way to go about it.

I never had faith in the Dem Party, and lost any faith I had in the Rep Party eight years ago so I left. The only thing I can hope for is that all Rep voters, that feel the same way you do, leave the Party as well. Either choose a third party or remain unaffiliated. You cannot change the Party's direction with your one measly vote. They might take notice of losing tens of thousands of registered voters from their rolls, but I doubt it.

Hillary will be a disaster for this country. She won't just disregard the Constitution, she will throw it away. On the brighter side, she'll probably cause a civil war.

I'm home sick today with the crud - and watching Cruz live right now speaking in Indiana on FNC. He is the most condescending SOB -just being such a d*k to every reporter asking questions - not answering the questions, bu giving his own answers. Dripping with condescension.

He's basically saying there is not one person who can get 1237 at this point. On what planet is he on?

Cruz keeps saying that if Trump runs against Hillary, she'll win by a landslide. I don't buy it. And I know the dayum GOP doesn't want Trump in there because they know they won't be able to control him, hence, pulling that crap in Colorado. They all want to keep Trump out of the White House. I think we need a change from the dayum politicians in the White House.

I could smack Cruz six ways from Sunday every time he opens his mouth. HE won't be the nominee. HE has no chance of winning at all, unless there is a contested convention. Yet, he's out there slinging the BS that no one has the votes. Well, no, they don't have them today. But gee, there is another Primary Tuesday coming tomorrow and wow, it looks like Trump will be wiping the slate clean with wins in all or almost all of those states. Kasich & Cruz are not even very close to winning them, if I recall correctly.

I swear he is smarmy.

Our consolation is that Ted Cruz will not be President of the United States. Ever. The bad news is...Hillary.

If anyone would have told me she'd be the lesser of two evils in an election, I'd have never believed it.

I still don't believe it. Maybe she would be the lesser if Hitler was the other choice.

Cruz is not going to get the nomination. If it goes to the Convention and they screw over Trump it won't be for Cruz.

Why do you believe he couldn't win? What policy or character reasons do you have for thinking it would be consoling to have him lose to Sec. Clinton?
