The man thinks he is going to get lucky so he does all this hard work to impress the woman. Then the typical woman changes her mind and doesnt give the poor man any.

So the man has been knocked off his high horse and must go home in shame.

WR, it's very simple. The woman/tower was a distraction so the guy would walk away from his vehicle so thugs could steal his tires (in this case, the horse's legs).
