Ok, I'll start off by saying I'm not going to make a habit of it...it was an "experiment" and I don't usually try to cheat the government. :lmao:

But I just mailed a TY note to my dad and put his name in both the return address and the recip. address. I left the stamp off. I mailed it from the shore and it arrived in Lexington Park a few days later. :yay: :lmao:

:drama:I've just lost all respect for you.... I'll never talk to you again.

so, same name in both places, eh.. ? BRB....

It's my dad's fault. He thought of the idea a few years ago, but he said to switch the addresses, so the "to" address would really be the "from" person. Then, when they return the letter to sender (because of lack of postage) the letter will be delivered!

Don't mean to burst your bubble, but people have been doing it for years.....that is why they made doing the very thing a Federal Offense!!!

I also remember people stamping and mailing themselves a copy of their latest hand written Will. Then not opening in and put it in a safe place. Proves when it was written and no disputing it.

Also song lyrics, poor mans copyright!

Many, many years ago when I was in grade school I wrote my first love letter and sent it. Wasn't going to ask Mom for a stamp anyways because I didn't want her to know I was in love. Of course back then it was something like a 6 cent stamp. The girl must have gotten it because it didn't come back, but she never wrote back. I almost quit writing love letters because of that.

"Back in the day".... yeah I'm old... before cell phones and email, we had a trick to call and let someone know we had arrived safely without being charged a long distance phone bill. You'd call person-to-person and ask for yourself. The operator would make the connect, someone would answer, but the person requested wouldn't be there. You'd tell the operator, "Ok, nevermind, I'll try again later", everyone hangs up, but the other party just heard from you and knew you were OK.

When they switched to a recording you could give your message real fast when it asked for your name "momIamheresendmoney"

People were still doing that when I was in college... My parents STILL had a party line, so sometimes we couldn't get through because of a chatty neighbor. This was early 1990's.

Not only is it a federal offense, but if the mailman that picks it up sees it, you could bein a lot more trouble than you bargained for.

"Lost" bills that never make it to your mailbox?
