I Lost My Brother's Dog!!

Petey is a neutured male Jack Russel Terrier. He is mostly white but has a little, brown, hard to see spot on his right ear. He's wearing a blue collar with a reflective stip. He might be a little freaked out and skittish.

We live about 1/6 of a mile down Flat Iron Rd. In Great Mills on a 220 acre Xmas Tree farm and the house is 1/2 mile from the road. He could have gone in any direction.

I am dog sitting while my brother is on a business trip. I let Petey out with my dogs at 3 a.m. not thinking about the fact that HE didn't have a collar for the underground fence. I caught my mistake about 5 minutes later and it was too late. I have been searching for him since about 3:15 a.m.

I have called the animal shelter and reported him lost.

My brother is going to KILL me. I only had the dog 8 hours and lost him already.

However, on a brighter note at least it was the dog and not one of his kids!!!

Yeah worse because a couple of weeks ago a buddy from work went to his cousins wedding and while backing out of the drive felt something and when he went to check it was cuz's pooch under the wheel. To make it worse he rolled off and it took off under the house.

Great idea!! If I can find a dog that looks just like and acts just as dumb as he does I'll be home free. If only.

I don't know what else to do. We've been out looking on foot, on ATVs and in the car. We've called and called and put up flyers.

I am so dead when my brother finds out.

I didn't put him out without a leash on purpose. My dogs are trained to an underground fence. It is habit for me to just let them out. It was 3 a.m. I was half asleep, not thinking clearly and Shiat happens.

My brother lives in Lexington Park. I have people there on the lookout for him too.

Just ran in to check this thread. We're going back out to look and call some more after a quick bite to eat.

I'm losing my voice with all this yelling, "Petey. Come on Petey Boy. Petey. Petey come on. Petey." B says if I do his prayers will have been answered.

He's a funny guy.

I might have one that you could use as a replacement.

I will be up and down that area in the morning doing stuff, I will keep my eyes open, but hopefully, you will find him before that.
