It should be at least in the recycle bin

NOPE !! NOTHING!!!!

:bawl:

I tried to do a system recovery.. I looked everywhere.. I ran file name I knew i had given pics....
All gone....

Is it possible that when I put them on the CD...The CD was bad and didn't pick the files up...Two pics made it on to the CD..

Is it also possible that it deleted the files atumotically??
The program said nothing about an automatic delete...

:tantrum:

my god damn memory isn't good enough to remember where I've been...Now i have to record new memories......

In My Opinion
Unless you overwrite a file it is not really gone.

get nortons systems works and it can find them for you.

when files are deleted the computer only changes the first letter of the file to a special charactor. those pictures are still on your puter, you just cant see them.

you can also take the drive to a puter place and for a fee they will recover the pictures for you.

Good idea for the future, but...........

Doesn't nortons have to be installed "pre" files gone missing for it to pull files that are gone?

b*tch rocket
I lost photos as well after a hard drive crash. I still have the hard drive, I just need to send it off to be recovered. But I now burn to cd, copy to different computers, AND upload to a server like photobucket or kodak gallery.

If you tried to use a recovery CD... you might be in trouble.
Best thing to do I'd say is shut the computer down, remove the hard drive, and take it to someone who knows what they're doing.

That may be the best thing to do. They are still there I am sure, you just need to try to fish them out...have you done back ups before? If so, they are on your backup tapes, take them with you. Even if you delet the pics, they will still be on your computer somewhere....take it to a professional so they can find them for you.

:yeahthat:

all the files can be recovered UNLESS you write over that sector of the harddrive. Before you do ANYTHING else try to recover the deleted files.

I thought Windows had a recovery for deleted files.. not just the recycle bin.. Where it would list all of your deleted files just like Norton does.
