I am so happy. We get her at 11.54 am on Friday May 23. I can't wait. We are all so excited. My son has named her Lucy.

I have gotten a dog from a shelter before. And the dog attacked my son. I know that can happen with any dog. But i feel more comfortable getting a dog from 8 weeks old. I do donate to the shelters. I feel i can do better that way.

Nobody said anything about shelters.

Then why the pictures. What were you trying to say?

This is a tread on dogs...just wanted to show off a few! Aren't they so cute and precious?

That first and third one look like they are about 8 weeks old...and since you like young ones, I just wanted to show you a few others than the one that you are getting!

Awww....soo cute....soo cuddly...so kind. It is sad though...the look in their eyes.

Have fun with your pup! I'm sure its happy that you bought it!

Awww that second one is precious too! Kinda wish his house was better painted, but meh, what can YOU do?

Lucy. Great name.

....
Yes, they are. Unfortunately it seems those pictures were taken over a month ago...so by now they have probably been euthanized and tossed in an oven.

Oh well.

Oh aren't these kids cute??? Unfortunately, this picture was taken last year. These kids have since died from starvation and thrown in a hole somewhere because some people were more concerned about dogs and cats in shelters then abused and starving kids.

Oh well.

Everyone has a different niche in life - some are called to do human rescue and fostering, some are called for animals, some are called to raise awareness to 'go green', etc.
Not to say starving kids in Africa, (or in the U.S. for that matter) isn't extremely sad and shouldn't be happening in this day and age, there are many people who try to help out by donating or doing charitable work to raise the awareness of the plight of the poor.

Yes, that is terribly sad. And if I was in the financial situation to assist in helping those poor souls, I would.

Do the shelters or animal welfare here take certain types on animal food? Back home they would take only certain types.

Too late.

Stick your ear outside and be very quiet. You can hear the kids screaming inside the oven. :yay:

:smack: There are plenty of animals in the US that are starving, we don't need to worry about animals from another country.

Haven't seen any signs or marches for "kid rescue" lately.

but as JPC states, we don't have to worry about the kids, welfare and the gov't will take care of all the orpahns and other kids, they don't need things like love, affection, parents or a permanent home. Put your money where it's MOST needed, saving cats and dogs!

Personally i wouldn't be against harvesting all the cats and dogs in shelters, and sending them to Africa to feed all the starving children.

Bright, polite and friendly are great words to describe 12-year-old Jacob. He has an inquisitive nature and loves asking questions about anything that comes into his mind.

When he’s not throwing the pigskin, Jacob saddles up to enjoy his new-found love - horseback riding. Jacob loves sports, especially football, and dreams of one day becoming a professional player, ideally for his favorite team - the Philadelphia Eagles. This well-rounded young man also knows his way around the kitchen. He loves cooking for himself and others.

To inquire about the above child(ren) and other children waiting for adoption visit Dave Thomas Foundation's Wendy's Wonderful Kids website.

You don't even have to pay to get him fixed AND he's a horsey person too!!

And he could have dinner ready when you get home from work...much better than just having a barking dog in a crate to greet you!

Poor kid...what a shame.
